Founded in 1921, the Otsuka Pharmaceutical Factory Inc. began producing intravenous solutions in 1946 and then Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Otsuka Pharmaceutical) was established in 1964. Through its nutritional therapies provided in clinical care, it has secured a leadership position in this field. In 1971, Otsuka Pharmaceutical also began developing various pharmaceutical products. In addition, leveraging the expertise and experience gained from the pharmaceutical manufacturing process, Otsuka Pharmaceutical applied this knowledge to the development of nutraceutical products. Today, Otsuka Pharmaceutical's global leadership in pharmaceuticals, nutrition, and health care is widely recognized.
In 1997, Otsuka Pharmaceutical (Hong Kong) Limited (Otsuka Hong Kong) was officially established. As a subsidiary of Otsuka Pharmaceutical in Japan, Otsuka Hong Kong is primarily responsible for the marketing and sales of Otsuka Pharmaceutical Group products in Hong Kong and Macau.
With societal changes and economic development, the demand for healthcare products among Hong Kong residents is rapidly increasing.
